Lumecca IPL at K2 Aesthetics & Wellness

At K2 Aesthetics & Wellness, we offer Lumecca IPL, a breakthrough in intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy that delivers up to 3X more energy in the 500-600 nm range for superior results. Optimized to treat vascular and pigmented lesions with fewer sessions, Lumecca helps patients achieve clearer, more youthful skin quickly and comfortably.

What Does Lumecca Treat?

Lumecca addresses a variety of skin concerns, including:

Pigmented Lesions:
Age spots (red/brown pigmentation)
Freckles (Ephelides)
Sun damage
Hyperpigmentation and dyschromia

Vascular Lesions:
Spider veins and telangiectasias (face and legs)
Rosacea
Port wine stains
Angiomas

How Lumecca Compares to Other IPL Devices

While some patients may request treatments using the BBL by Sciton or other devices like the Max G by Cynosure or Limelight by Cutera, Lumecca stands out as the most powerful and effective IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) device available on the market today. Lumecca is known for its superior ability to deliver high-intensity, broad-spectrum light directly into the skin, targeting pigmentation, redness, and other signs of skin aging with remarkable precision and efficiency. Unlike other devices, Lumecca requires fewer treatment sessions to achieve desired results, making it both a time-saving and cost-effective option for patients. Its advanced technology is designed to improve skin tone, clarity, and texture, setting a new standard in IPL treatments.

Key Benefits of Lumecca IPL

  1. Faster Results: Complete skin rejuvenation in 1-2 sessions for most patients, compared to 4-6 with standard IPLs.
  2. High Treatment Comfort: Strong sapphire cooling tip enhances patient comfort.
  3. Efficient Treatments: Large spot size and rapid pulse rate reduce session time.
  4. Designed by Experts: Developed by Dr. Michael Kriendel, the original inventor of IPL and lead scientist at InMode.

What to Expect Before, During, and After Treatment

Before

Before Treatment: It’s essential to avoid sun exposure for at least one month before your Lumecca IPL treatment to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the procedure. Sun exposure can increase the risk of side effects, such as  hyperpigmentation or burns, by making the skin more sensitive to light-based treatments. Additionally, tanning—whether natural or artificial—can affect the accuracy of the Lumecca, potentially diminishing the treatment’s efficacy.  Protecting your skin by wearing sunscreen, covering exposed areas, and avoiding peak sunlight hours will help you achieve the best possible results from your Lumecca session.

During

During Treatment: As the Lumecca device is applied to your skin, you can expect a bright flash of light with each pulse—this is the intense pulsed light targeting the pigmentation and vascular lesions in the treated area. Some patients describe a mild, elastic snapping sensation against the skin, similar to a light rubber band snap. This sensation is generally well-tolerated and subsides quickly. The Lumecca device is designed with patient comfort in mind, so any mild discomfort is brief and minimized by advanced cooling technology.

After

After Treatment: Immediately following your Lumecca session, you may experience temporary redness or a slight warmth in the treated area, which is a normal reaction. This redness usually resolves within an hour but may last slightly longer for those with sensitive skin. Pigmented spots in the treated area may initially darken. Over the course of a week, these spots will gradually flake off, revealing a clearer, more even skin tone underneath. For vascular lesions, the treated vessels will fade gradually over the next few days to weeks as your body reabsorbs them naturally.

Results You Can Expect from Lumecca IPL Treatment

1.
Immediate Post-Treatment (0-2 Days)

You may notice mild redness, similar to a light sunburn, which typically fades within a day or two. Apply soothing skincare and sunscreen during this period.

2.
Early Post-Treatment Changes (2-5 Days)

Some pigmented spots may darken and flake off as the treatment takes effect. Skin may start to feel smoother.

3.
Continued Post Improvement (2-4 Weeks)

You’ll see gradual improvement in pigmentation, sunspots, and skin texture, with collagen production enhancing skin’s smoothness and reducing fine lines.

4.
Optimal Results (4-12 Weeks)

By this stage, expect a more even skin tone, reduced pigmentation, and improved texture, achieving the full results of your treatment plan.
